If you love classic cars you probably enjoy road trips, and there are some great destinations out there for automotive enthusiasts. One of them is the Sarasota Classic Car Museum, which is one of the longest-standing classic car museums in the entire country.

The museum was founded by two brothers who had spent a number of years collecting cars. The brothers, Bob and Herbert Horn, decided that they should put the collection that they had on display.

Though they were from Iowa originally, they did a lot of traveling, and they were familiar with Sarasota. They decided that Sarasota would be the perfect place to start their automobile museum. They opened the “Horns’ Cars of Yesterday” museum in 1953, and they wound up selling the museum to Walter Bellm in 1967. It was purchased by its current owner, Martin Godbey in 1997.

There are some truly incredible cars on display at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum. If you are a classic car fan who likes the Beatles, you should definitely make a trip to this place. They have a 1965 Mercedes-Benz that was owned by John Lennon, and they have a Mini Cooper that belonged to Lennon’s other half, Paul McCartney.

The name Ringling means a great deal in the city of Sarasota. John Ringling was one of seven brothers who founded the Ringling Brothers Circus. He and his wife started the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, and the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota was named after him because of the influence that the museum had on the town.

One of the crown jewels of the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is John Ringling’s Rolls-Royce collection.

You can see at least 75 of the most amazing classic cars on display anywhere at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum. Plus, there is a collection of antique arcade games that will blow you away.

Sarasota is a great place to visit, with Siesta Key being named one of the best beaches in the country year after year. Summer is on the way, and this is a road trip that will not disappoint you.

The Sarasota Classic Car Museum is open seven days a week from 9 AM until 6 PM. They have various different special events during the year to sweeten the pot, including a classic car show.

You can also rent the facility at night if you want to throw a party or some type of special event. It’s hard to imagine a cooler environment for a gathering of classic car lovers.
